FAQs
1. What are food pick flags?
Food pick flags are mini paper banner flags attached to wooden bamboo toothpicks. They are small decorative labels inserted into cupcakes, desserts, finger food, cocktails, appetizers, fruits and snacks. Widely used to display slogans, brand names, dish names, party themes and promotional text for catering, parties and food retail.
2. What sizes and shapes can be customized?
The most popular shape is the swallowtail pennant as shown in the picture. Rectangular, pointed triangle, round-top and custom die-cut shapes are all available. We offer standard mini flag widths ranging from 20mm to 60mm with customizable length. The bamboo picks support common lengths of 65mm, 80mm and 100mm; bespoke pick sizes are acceptable.
3. What paper stock options are available for food flag labels?
- 200–250gsm coated art paper: Crisp printing for colorful patterns, gold foil and bright text.
- Matte uncoated paper: Soft texture ideal for simple party designs.
- Waterproof coated paper: Resists oil, moisture and condensation from cold drinks and wet food.
- All paper is food-safe and does not release harmful substances in contact with edibles.
4. What printing techniques and color modes do you support?
CMYK full-color printing works for colorful graphics, stars, geometric patterns and multicolored backgrounds. Pantone PMS spot color printing guarantees consistent solid colors and brand hues. Hot gold/silver/rose gold foil stamping is available for shiny metallic lettering such as the wording on the sample flags. All inks are food-grade safe. Both single-sided and double-sided printing can be arranged.
5. What bleed and safe zone rules apply for design files?
3mm bleed is required on all four edges of flag artwork to avoid white borders after trimming. All key text, logos and patterns must stay within a 2mm safe zone. Trimming and flag folding may have minor position deviation, and the safe zone prevents important content from being cut off.
6. What file formats are accepted for printing?
Vector AI and PDF files with fully embedded fonts are preferred. All images must be 300 DPI or higher at actual flag size. Low-resolution files will cause fuzzy text, blurry stars and unclear decorative patterns.
7. Can I customize text, patterns and double-layer flag designs?
Yes. You can freely edit slogans, dish names, holiday words, brand logos and decorative elements (stars, triangles, polka dots). Double-layer stacked flags (two different banners on one toothpick) like the reference picture are fully supported. We also offer custom variable text for personalized party favors.
8. Are the bamboo picks safe for food contact?
Our bamboo toothpicks are natural, polished, smooth, burr-free and food-certified. Picks are sanitized before assembly. Plastic food-grade picks can be substituted if bamboo is not preferred.
9. What are common usage scenarios of food pick flags?
Birthday parties, weddings, baby showers, café desserts, bubble tea and cocktail bars, bakery cupcakes, catering buffets, holiday banquets, supermarket food tastings and food shop promotional snacks.
10. What is the MOQ and production lead time?
The minimum order quantity starts at 100 sets for standard printed single-layer flags. Double-layer flags, foil printing and custom die-cut shapes require a higher MOQ. Bulk orders enjoy tiered discounts. Standard production takes 3–5 business days after digital proof confirmation. Rush printing service is available for urgent parties and catering events.
11. What finishing options are optional?
Matte or glossy lamination for anti-oil and anti-scratch protection; precision die-cut swallowtail edges; clean flag gluing onto bamboo sticks; rounded flag corners to prevent paper scratches.
